Attitude of Gratitude

Someone of Facebook asked if we ever just got sick of thinking about food.  My first reaction was, "heck yeah!"  Most of the time these days, I don't even put much thought into eating anymore.  It is such an afterthought.  I can honestly say that before my surgery, food consumed me.  All I could think about was what was my next meal, what type of cuisine would it be?  How would it be cooked, etc?  That is a whole lot of energy to put into one meal.

Then I thought more about what my fellow sleever was saying, and while I responded candidly about being sick of food, I also told her that I could focus more on being grateful for my new life and the new adventures that it allowed me.

My attitude has changed so much.  Eating out to me is not a big thing anymore -- I can take it or leave it.  I may get a craving here or there, but the more I think about what I can do, the more gratitude I have about where I am in my life and that I am now able to focus more on my health, raising my family, and keeping myself in tune with my spiritual side.  I am grateful for new way of living and I owe a lot of it to WLS.

I hope you will share what you are grateful for!  How are you feeling about food these days on your journey.
