Food for Thought -- and for the Week

I went shopping this evening right before the Steelers got trounced in the Superbowl, and I found the Shirataki noodles everyone is buzzing about. I bought two packs of those puppies! I can't wait to try them. I read the nutrition facts about them, and it said the entire package of noodles has 20 calories! I couldn't believe my eyes. I could never eat a full package, but it's nice to know there are now other pasta options out there that are low fat, low cal, and low carb.

I also found some chicken burgers in the freezer case that are pre-made. Each patty has 130 calories and 18 grams of protein. Lastly, I found Cabot's Plain Greek Yogurt. So what, says you? Well, this particular find even though its is plain, has a whopping 22grams of protein! How's that for protein!

When I got home, I began prepping my petite Superbowl fiesta. I cut up some cucumber, and made some crustless quiches a la Eggface. They were nummy and I have enough for a few more meals or to freeze for later. I used onion, shallot, cheese, egg beaters, and sausage in my quiches. The family enjoyed them as well. I munched along with them in front of the TV as my team was dragged from one end of the football field in Dallas to the next. At least the food was good!
